The PhD Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is a multidisciplinary program that covers different fields in the pharmaceutical industry, academic and research fields, in addition to clinical practice.
In order to enroll in the program, the student must have a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a doctor of pharmacy degree and a master’s degree in one of the fields of pharmaceutical sciences.
The program consists of 48 credit hours, divided into 24 credit hours in specialized theoretical courses that are compulsory (12 credit hours) and elective ones (12 credit hours). The second section is the thesis (24 credit hours), on the basis of which the student’s can determine the specialization track within the following fields:
1. Medicinal chemistry and phytochemistry
2. Pharmacology
3. Clinical pharmacy
4. Pharmaceutical technology
The curriculum offers extensive expertise in drug research and discovery, as well as in the development and analysis of diverse pharmaceutical formulations, alongside proficiency in pharmacotherapy. This program provides highly qualified graduates who are capable to work in the academic and research, as well as the pharmaceutical industries. Additionally, the graduates have the capability to take leadership positions in the health field.
