An-Najah National University Library has been selected as one of the beneficiary institutions of READ JAPAN PROJECT 2026, an initiative administered by the Tokyo Foundation. The project aims to promote knowledge and understanding of Japan by providing universities and libraries around the world with specialized books and academic resources.

The University’s application to the project was carried out in close coordination with the Representative Office of Japan to the Palestinian Authority, with continued follow-up throughout the application process.

The selection of An-Najah National University Library represents a valuable addition to its academic resources and reflects the University’s commitment to enriching its collection of Japanese studies materials. These resources will provide students and researchers with broader opportunities to explore Japan while fostering greater academic, cultural, and intellectual exchange between the University and Japan.

Launched in 2008, the READ JAPAN PROJECT seeks to enhance knowledge and understanding of Japan worldwide by providing universities and libraries with a carefully selected collection of English-language books. Through these resources, students, researchers, and readers gain greater access to materials that offer deeper insights into Japan, its culture, and its society.
