Prof. Khaled Al-Sahili, President of the Mediterranean Network of Engineering and Management Schools (RMEIM), represented An-Najah National University at the network’s annual workshop, held at Sapienza University of Rome from September 19 to 24, 2025.

The participation came within the framework of the INSPIRE Project, specifically under the Social Lab Program, in which An-Najah serves as an active member. The workshop, titled “Gender Equality in Science, Technology, and Innovation,” focused on advancing the role of women in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.

During the opening session, Prof. Al-Sahili delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Investing in the Future: Supporting Palestinian Women in Innovation,” highlighting the creativity and accomplishments of Palestinian women in scientific, academic, entrepreneurial, and community fields—particularly those at An-Najah National University.

His presentation featured comprehensive documentation of women’s achievements at the university during the 2024–2025 academic year, supported by official data, images, and statistics published on the university’s website. It underscored women’s strong presence in university life, their leadership roles, international participation, and recognition through prestigious local, regional, and international awards.

The workshop also showcased several collaborative initiatives and project proposals led by An-Najah, including a submission under the Interreg NEXT MED Program, preparations for a joint Erasmus+ project with partner universities in Tunisia and France, and discussions on the university’s participation in upcoming international projects related to sustainability. The meetings further explored An-Najah’s upcoming participation in the MedAccred Workshop on international accreditation for engineering and management programs, scheduled to take place in Morocco in December 2025.

At the conclusion of his visit, Prof. Al-Sahili affirmed that An-Najah University continues to play an active regional and international role through pioneering initiatives and meaningful collaborations that reflect its academic excellence and growing global influence. He noted that this participation further strengthens An-Najah’s leadership in the RMEIM network, which it currently chairs.

It is worth mentioning that An-Najah University was the first among RMEIM members to adopt and publish a Gender Equality Policy on its official website back in 2016, reinforcing its leadership and commitment to gender equity within the network.
