Dr. Iyad Sadeddin, Associate Professor at An-Najah National University, recently participated in the New Perspectives in Solid-State and Materials Research workshop, held from February 3 to 5, 2025, at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Physics in Stuttgart, Germany. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Palestinian-German Science Bridge and the Palestinian Academy of Science and Technology, with contributions from the Arab American University. It served as a key platform for fostering scientific collaboration between Palestinian and German institutions and advancing research in materials science.

Bringing together around 50 participants, including leading scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students, the event covered a wide range of topics, from sustainable energy materials to quantum technologies and cutting-edge experimental methods. Dr. Sadeddin played a significant role in these discussions, delivering a presentation on Enhanced Supercapacitor Performance through Laser-Modified Activated Carbon. His research, which focuses on improving energy storage technologies, was met with strong interest, sparking in-depth discussions and paving the way for potential collaborations with international experts.

This workshop marked an important step in strengthening Palestinian-German scientific relations, not only by facilitating academic exchanges but also by addressing the challenges Palestinian researchers face. A notable outcome was the commitment of the Max Planck Institute to providing internship opportunities for Palestinian students, a move that underscores the importance of international partnerships in supporting young researchers and fostering innovation.

Dr. Sadeddin’s participation highlights An-Najah’s dedication to advancing high-impact scientific research and positioning Palestinian scholars within the global academic community. His contributions, alongside those of other Palestinian researchers, reaffirm the growing role of Palestinian institutions in cutting-edge scientific discourse.
