As part of its commitment to global research collaboration, An-Najah National University took part in the 11th Conference on Environment and Renewable Energy, held in Vietnam from February 21-24, 2025. The conference brought together leading researchers and experts from around the world, including the United States, Italy, Hungary, and Vietnam, fostering a rich exchange of scientific knowledge and innovation.

Representing An-Najah, Prof. Shehdeh Jodeh from the Faculty of Science presented a peer-reviewed research paper titled:
“Urban Air Quality and Comfort Assessment: Case Study in Nablus Underground Garages and Streets.” Co-authored by Abdelrahman Eid from the Department of Mathematics and Dr. Ghadir Hanbali from the Department of Chemistry, the study offers a comprehensive assessment of air quality in urban areas of Nablus. The research focused on measuring suspended particles, analyzing their environmental impact, and examining key pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOC), nitrogen oxides (NO), and hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). Using advanced air monitoring techniques, the study provided valuable insights into air pollution levels, marking it as the first study of its kind in Palestine to conduct such an in-depth environmental analysis.

The research drew significant interest from attendees, sparking discussions and questions about its findings, as well as An-Najah’s broader contributions to environmental research.

The conference also hosted prestigious scientific journals, including Environmental Science and Pollution Research, a Springer publication with an impact factor of 5.4. It  played a key role in evaluating the presented studies.

This participation reflects An-Najah’s dedication to advancing scientific research on a global scale and its ongoing efforts to contribute to sustainable solutions for environmental challenges. By supporting its researchers in producing high-quality studies, the university continues to strengthen its position as a leading institution in scientific innovation and sustainability.
