An-Najah National University, represented by Prof. Jamal Ahmad Zaid Al-Kilani, Dean of the Faculty of Shari'ah and Head of An-Najah Center for Religious Studies, and Mr. Raed Debiy, Assistant to the President for Community Affairs and Board Member of the Religious Studies Center, conducted an official visit to the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS) in Amman, Jordan. The visit focused on exploring academic cooperation and strengthening future partnerships between the two institutions.


The delegation was received by Dr. Amer Al-Hafi, Academic Advisor at RIIFS; Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Salih, Senior Researcher; and Dr. Renee Hattar, Director of RIIFS. Discussions centered on fostering academic collaboration, launching joint research initiatives, and enhancing programs in religious and cultural studies.

The visit highlighted opportunities for joint training programs, resource-sharing between the RIIFS library and An-Najah’s Religious Studies Center, and the exchange of specialized resources to advance research in religious studies.

Prof. Al-Kilani and Mr. Debiy provided an overview of An-Najah’s Religious Studies Center, emphasizing its mission to promote balanced thought, interfaith dialogue, and a deeper understanding of religious traditions, including Islamic, Christian, and Samaritan perspectives. They underscored the center’s role in promoting human fraternity and celebrating diversity as pillars of unity.

Dr. Hattar presented RIIFS’s academic and research programs, highlighting its contributions to enriching interfaith dialogue and advancing religious scholarship.

The visit also included a tour of the RIIFS library, which houses an extensive collection of resources supporting academic research and studies in religious and cultural fields.

The discussions concluded with a shared commitment to building sustainable partnerships between the two institutions. Both sides emphasized the importance of fostering interfaith dialogue, promoting shared human values, and developing pioneering academic and research programs to address contemporary challenges.

This visit underscores An-Najah National University’s commitment to strengthening regional and international partnerships in religious and cultural studies. It further highlights the university’s dedication to advancing tolerance, moderation, and openness in academic and religious communities, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
