An-Najah National University and the French Consulate Highlight Scholarship Opportunities in France
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, An-Najah National University, in collaboration with the French Consulate, hosted a seminar titled “Scholarships in France” at the Martyr Zafer Al-Masri Auditorium. Organized by the Academic and Professional Development Center in partnership with the Office of International Development and External Affairs, the event aimed to inform students and graduates about scholarship opportunities in France and provide insights into the application processes.
The seminar, attended by over 200 participants, was moderated by Dr. Amjad El-Qanni, Director of the Academic and Professional Development Center. Contributions were made by Ms. Amal Barbar from the Office of International Development and External Affairs, alongside a delegation from the French Consulate, including Ms. Maud Briard, Attaché for Higher Education and Institutional Cooperation, and Mr. Tareq Ghosheh, Program Officer for Higher Education and Academic Affairs.
In his opening remarks, Dr. El-Qanni welcomed the French delegation and attendees, emphasizing the importance of introducing students to international education opportunities. He highlighted how studying in France can enrich students’ academic and professional skills, broaden their knowledge, and open pathways to new specializations and careers.
Ms. Briard praised An-Najah National University for its commitment to fostering academic collaboration with the French Consulate. She underscored the significance of the seminar in facilitating access to scholarships and promoting cross-cultural academic exchange.
Mr. Ghosheh provided a comprehensive overview of higher education in France, detailing the application processes, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities, including programs tailored exclusively for Palestinian students. He spotlighted the prestigious “Eiffel Scholarship”, which benefited 394 students worldwide last year, and the “France Excellence Scholarship”, reserved for Palestinian students. He elaborated on the benefits of these scholarships, the application procedures, and their role in empowering exceptional students to achieve academic excellence.
Lamia Innab, a distinguished alumna of An-Najah’s Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and a recipient of a master’s scholarship in France, shared her personal experience. She reflected on the transformative impact of her studies, emphasizing the opportunities to expand her professional skills, academic knowledge, and global network.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, offering participants practical guidance on navigating the scholarship application process and maximizing their opportunities to study in France.
