An-Najah University and Directorate of Education Launch Palestine Science and Technology Fair 2024
In a testament to their ongoing collaboration, An-Najah National University and the Directorate of Education-Nablus jointly inaugurated the Palestine Science and Technology Fair (PSTF) 2024 on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Hosted by the Faculty of Science, the fair showcased 30 scientific entrepreneurial projects from students across Nablus Governorate, encompassing diverse fields such as medicine, energy, environment, technology, engineering, and programming. The event unfolded at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology on the University’s New Campus.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals including Prof. Abdel-Nasser Zaid, the University President; Dr. Abdel-Salam Al-Khayyat, the Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Ahmed Sawalha, the Director of Education Directorate in Nablus; Dr. Maen Ishtaiwi, the Vice President Assistant for Academic Affairs- Scientific Faculties; Dr. Ghadeer Omar, the Dean of the Faculty of Science; Dr. Muhannad Haj Hussein, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology; Dr. Kefah Barham, the Dean of the Graduate Studies Faculty; Dr. Mohammad Sharaf, Director of An-Najah Innovation Park; Dr. Muna Haj Yahya, the Arbitration Committee chair, along with the Ministry and Education Directorate staff. Additionally, administrative members of An-Najah university were also in attendance.
Expressing his pleasure, Prof. Zaid highlighted the longstanding partnership with the Directorate of Education, emphasizing the university's commitment to supporting outstanding students and fostering their creativity through initiatives like the PSTF.
Mr. Sawalha underscored the significance of organizing the fair despite the challenging conditions faced by Palestine, stating that it provides a valuable platform for students to showcase their research achievements and learn from specialists in various fields.
Dr. Ishtaiwi commended the enduring collaboration between the Directorate of Education in Nablus and An-Najah National University, emphasizing the fair's role in showcasing Palestinian students' capabilities in creative thinking and staying abreast of scientific advancements.
A notable participant, Misk Abdul-Salam, expressed gratitude for the support from both An-Najah University and the Directorate of Education. Misk, who ranked fourth globally in programmed systems at the ISEF Science and Engineering Fair in Texas, USA in 2023, participated in the exhibition with a new scientific project.
The fair concluded with the announcement of the winning projects, marking another successful edition of the PSTF and reaffirming the commitment to nurturing scientific talent among Palestinian students.
