Dr. Sanaa Alsarghali, Professor of Constitutional Law and Holder of the UNESCO Chair for Human Rights and Democracy at An-Najah National University, participated in the 11th World Congress of Constitutional Law, which was held in South Africa from 5 – 9 December 2022 at the University of Johannesburg (UJ).

The Congress is held every four years and brings together constitutional law scholars from around the world. It provides a unique opportunity to discuss the most important issues in constitutional law and for jurists across the globe to meet and share ideas.

At the invitation of Professor Adrienne Stone, President of the International Association of Constitutional Law, Dr. Alsarghali participated as a keynote speaker in a special session that focused on several constitutional issues, including the constitutional crisis in Russia, Palestine and Sri Lanka.

Dr. Alsarghali also participated in two workshops that focused on discussing the new concepts of separation of powers, and presented her new research study, which talks about the concept of semi-presidential systems between theory and reality.
