The Board of Trustees held a meeting headed by Mr. Sabih Al-Masri, the Board's Chair to review and appraise An-Najah University's achievements. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Board's Vice Chair, the Board's members and the University President, Prof. Maher Natsheh.


Prof. Natsheh gave an overview about An-Najah's achievements and future plans.

He provided statistics on the number of academic and administrative staff members and students. He also made a comparison between percentages of students to academic staff and academic staff to administrative staff numbers. The provided results and indicators are in accordance with the standards of the Association of Arab Universities.

In addition, Prof. Natsheh introduced the academic programs accredited by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission since the beginning of the academic year 2019/2020 and the bending programs. He referred to research production accredited by Scopus showing the accelerated growth in the number and quality of produced research papers during the past five years.

He added that An-Najah University has been ranked the first Palestinian university according to Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2019.

The Board's Head and members also met with Dr. Yousef Salameh who talked about An-Najah’s Neuroscience Lab and the role it will play in cancer treatment in Palestine.

Dr. Ahmed Bassalat also attended to discuss the importance of the Center ‎for Excellence in High Energy Physics. He listed the fruitful results of the four editions of the Winter School of High Energy Physics in Palestine and the distinguished partnership with Paris Sud 11 and CERN in Switzerland.

Moreover, Dr. Raeda Mustafa gave a presentation about the BioSciences Unit (NBU)‎, first of its kind in Palestine that serves pharmaceutical manufacturing through medicine utilization instead of‎carrying out BE studies outside Palestine.

The Board concluded the meeting with discussing important administrative resolutions related to the University's faculties and centers.
