The Office of ‎International Development and External Affairs (IDEA) at An-Najah University organized a meeting with an academic delegation from the U.K. made up of chancellors, provosts, and deans from nearly a dozen distinguished U.K. based universities including the University of Exeter, University of St Andrew’s, University of Sussex, University of Birmingham, University of Lancaster, University of Roehampton, Liverpool John Moores University and University of Bolton as well as the Palestine country director of the British Council.


The aim of the meeting was to share opinions, thoughts and observations on future possible areas of collaboration.

The meeting began with introductions of the delegates as well as members of An Najah’s senior administration. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Kherieh Rassas, Vice President for International Development and External Affairs, on An Najah’s mission, history, facts and figures, international rankings and other academic achievements. Dr. Rassas also highlighted the University’s strict policy of equal employment opportunities for males, females and people with special needs.

Following this presentation, the University president, Prof. Maher Natsheh, briefed the delegation on the University's academic programs, future developmental projects and challenges that face higher education in Palestine. He also welcomed promoting better academic and research cooperation between An-Najah University and British universities.

The meeting then proceeded to an open discussion to exchange thoughts about collaborative opportunities with regards to academic exchange and joint research programs.
