The students Diaa Abed, Sufyan Yaqoub, Yahya Hamamda, Muhammad Helou, Sami Bani Odeh, and Maan Sawafta from the Department of Animal Production and Animal Health discussed their graduation project entitled as (Studying the Effect of Using Coconut and Qizha Waste on the Performance of Broiler Chickens), which aimed on finding an alternative to the expensive Forage mixtures and use the factories waste of coconut and Qizha that contain appropriate amounts of protein .

The students, with the assistance of the Department of Nutrition and Food Technology, ‎analyzed the coconut and Qizha waste and replaced them instead of soy, which is a traditional ‎fodder known for its high price. The students created fodder mixtures that contain equal ‎nutrition value compared with traditional fodders.‎

The results showed that the new fodder mixture contained the same amount of protein found ‎in traditional fodder. It also showed that there were no differences in the performance of ‎broiler chicken groups, which used traditional fodder as food consumption, and the ‎experimental alternative fodder mixture that students used as food for thirty-five days, which ‎is the period of raising broiler chickens.‎

The study has recommended that experts and specialists take these results into consideration ‎because it contributes to reducing the cost of raising broiler chickens for farmers and ‎consequently  to consumers. This graduation project was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Zazaa. It ‎received a positive evaluation from the jury members.‎
