Student Mohammad Ramadan from the Mechanical Engineering Department at An-‎Najah University has recently won second place in the Speak Out For Engineering ‎‎(SOFE) competition which was held in London on Friday, October 25, 2019 and ‎organized by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).‎


The competition included participants from six countries around the world including ‎Germany, the Netherlands, Malta, Palestine, Iberia and Scandinavia.‎

Student Ramadan who won the Speak Out For Engineering (SOFE) local competition ‎which took place in September, 2019 at Palestine Technical University – Khadouri, ‎delivered a 20-minutes presentation followed by 10-minutes of questions in front of ‎a panel of judges who assessed his performance.‎

Speak Out For Engineering (SOFE) is the annual presentation competition for ‎IMechE young members. SOFE offers students the opportunity to present on a ‎technical topic of their choice in front of a panel of judges who will assess the ‎entries and provide feedback. The aim of the competition is to develop students' ‎presentation/communication skills and teach them how to deliver a technical ‎presentation to a primarily non-technical audience.
