An-Najah Signs Series of MOUs with a Number of Academic Institutions and Universities in Switzerland
An-Najah National University announced the signing of a number of MOUs with a group of prominent Swiss universities and academic institutes, including the Swiss academy of science, the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) and Swiss school of Public Health. The announcement came during the visit of the Acting President of An-Najah University, Prof Maher Natsheh to Basel, Switzerland, where he discussed possible areas of future joint cooperation. Student and expertise exchange, research cooperation, and joint research were just a few areas that were discussed during the visit.
Prof. Natsheh was accompanied by Dr. Abdulsalam Khayyat, Teaching Assistant at An-Najah's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and graduate of the University of Basel in Switzerland. The joint cooperation between the University and the academic institutes and universities in Switzerland began in 2015 and was led and coordinated by Dr. Al-Khayyat. Since then, several joint projects have been conducted and implemented, resulting in many scientific publications.
It is worth mentioning that a delegation from An-Najah headed by Prof.Natsheh and Dr. Ahmed Bassalat, Staff Member at An-Najah's Physics Department and Chair of the Winter School of High Energy Physics in Palestine (WISHEPP) also visited the European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN in Geneva. The delegation was invited by CERN to start the implementation of the computer devices grant offered to establish an excellence centre in high energy physics in Palestine which will be located at An-Najah campus.
