On Sunday, May 21st, 2017, the International Office’s American Corner Nablus in collaboration with the American Studies Minor Programme at An-Najah held a certificate ceremony and Skype conference at the Old Campus Library conference room.

The ceremony included university students who completed a 15-hour workshop on the history of social movements in the United States.

The workshop aimed at linking America’s historical movements to current day politics through a series of lectures and debates in English.

During the event, the students skyped with the workshop instructor, Ms. Leah List, who is now in the United States.  During the skype, Leah discussed some of the concepts taught in the class and posed questions to the students about their opinions on social activism and democracy.

At the end of the workshop, the students were awarded certificates.

The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Ahmad Qabha, Coordinator of the American Studies Minor Programme; Ms Alia Gilbrecht, American Corner Nablus Coordinator and Ms Shatha Jararaa from the Public Relations Department at An-Najah.
