The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and the Scholarships Office at An-Najah in cooperation with a number of professors at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland concluded an Erasmus+ training programme for An-Najah’s economics students.


The programme included Dr. Sebastian Twaróg's and Prof. Dr. Jacek Szołtysek's, who are specialists in Logistics and Urban Economics.

The programme was over four days and included 150 of An-Najah’s engineering and economics students who were in touch with the teaching methods of a number of international universities and their experiences.

The programme taught the students how to smartly confront the problems that may encounter them with regard to urban economics and modern cities through the optimal use of technology and economic resources. They were also trained on the logistics that affect the companies’ performance and learned about the different networking techniques that networks individuals and companies as well as how to develop a social and institutional network.

Dr. Shaker Khalil, Head of the Economics Department thanked the Polish guests for offering the students this opportunity and discussed with them further means of future cooperation. He also thanked Dr. Rasha Khayyat, Scholarship’s Office Coordinator for her efforts to implement the training programme.

During their visit, the delegation met with Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah who commended the collaboration that links An-Najah and Katowice.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation were given honorary plaques by Dr. Mohammad El-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Khalil and Dr. Khayyat.
