Ghadir Al-Hanbali is An-Najah National University top student in graduate studies with a GPA of 4.0.


The 23 year old student enrolled in the BSc Applied Chemistry programme at An-Najah after finishing high school with an average grade of 96.2 in the sciences.

She graduated from A-Najah with a GPA of 3.78 and worked there as a research assistant.

Then, she enrolled in the Chemistry MSc programme at An-Najah where she obtained the Middle East Desalination Research Centre (MEDRC) scholarship and the Palestinian Water Authority.

Ghadir was able to participate in publishing 4 research papers in partnership with her Professor Shehdeh Joudeh from the Chemistry Department. The papers tackled different issues such as water corrosion and purification.

Both Dr. Shehdeh Joudeh and Dr. Ismael Warrad, who supervised Ghadir’s MSc thesis, commended her efforts and hard work as she was a distinguished devoted student during her higher studies.

When we interviewed Ghadir, she thanked her family who contributed to her success and gave a piece of advice to her colleagues. She advised them to study what they think is good for them and added: “devotion and hard work are the paths to success; be innovative and always set a target ahead”.

At the end of the interview, Ghadir thanked An-Najah and her professors who offered her the needed support during her studies.

Ghadir has recently enrolled in the Chemistry PhD programme of An-Najah and is currently working as part time at the chemistry labs at the university.
