On Thursday, June 23rd, 2016, Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah received at his office a student group from the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE).


The group included students from Switzerland, Germany, Spain, French, Greece, the UAE, Sweden and Austria to learn about the political situation in Palestine and the Palestinian culture and people and discuss the progress made on their internship in the region.

Prof. Natsheh welcomed the students and briefed them on An-Najah’s history, students, programmes, cooperation agreements and international accreditations. He also talked about the economic and political challenges that encounter higher education in Palestine and the political situations in Palestine in general in terms of occupation and unemployment.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammad El-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Read Abdulkareem, Director of IAESTE in Palestine, Prof. Amer Hamouz, Director of the Practical Training Centre and Ms Shatha Jararaa from the Public Relations Department at An-Najah.

 IAESTE is an independent, non-profit and non-political student exchange organization that provides students in technical degrees (primarily Science, Engineering and the applied arts) with paid, course-related, training abroad and employers with highly skilled, highly motivated trainees, for long or short term projects. With over 80 countries involved and exchanging over 4000 traineeships each year worldwide, it is one of the largest organizations in the world.
