An-Najah Concludes the Activities of the 2nd Palestinian International Conference on Material Science and Nanotechnology
On Thursday, March 24th, 2016, the Faculty of Sciences at An-Najah concluded the activities of the 2nd International Conference on Material Science and Nanotechnology which was supported by the Omega Raw Materials Company, Al-Rajeh Detergents Factory and Al-Zahra Company.
The two days conference included discussing 35 research papers and 23 posters on subjects such as water purification and cancer treatment.
Professor Ghassan Saffarini, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Head of the Conference’s Preparatory Committee mentioned that the conference took 5 months of preparation and is a conclusion of the 1st Conference on Material Science and Nanotechnology which was held in 2012.
He also mentioned that the conference was attended by experts from various parts of the Arab world including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Libya and the United Arab Emirates in addition to others from France, Italy, Holland, North Korea and India.
It is worth mentioning that the conference was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Bouazzi, Lecturer at the Tunis El-Manar University.
The conference resulted in a number of recommendations; namely, holding the 3rd conference in 2017 at a Palestinian university other than An-Najah, holding the “New Trends in Physics and Mathematics” Conference this year at the Arab American University of Jenin, encouraging the local community to support scientific research and adopting projects that serve national industries.
