Dr. Sana Al-Sarghali; the First Palestinian to Obtain PhD in Constitutional Law from Lancaster University
After passing the VIVA oral exam, Dr. Sana Al-Sarghali, An-Najah PhD candidate at Lancaster University in the UK obtained her PhD in constitutional law and became the First Palestinian to obtain this degree.
Dr. Sarghali represented An-Najah in several international conferences and was the Dean’s Assistant at the Graduate College at Lancaster for three years. She also established the New Café, an activity that helps students propose their research papers through social media.
Dr. Akram Daoud, Dena of the Faculty of Law expressed his pride in Dr. Sarghali for achieving this success and wished her well in her career life.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Sarghali was candidate by An-Najah to study MA at Durham University in the UK as she was a top student at the university.

- The VIVA committee consisted of Prof. Christina Mori from University of Cape Town and Dr. Simon Mabon from Lancaster University.
- The oral exam (also oral test or viva voce) is a practice in many schools and disciplines in which an examiner poses questions to the student in spoken form. The student has to answer the question in such a way as to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the subject to pass the exam.
