The visit touched upon the issues of entrepreneurship and innovation in business, entrepreneurial strategies and mindset, academic entrepreneurship, steps to finance (patented) business idea and the social impact of start-up companies


On Monday, November 23rd, 2015, a delegation from An-Najah organized a study visited to Bologna in Italy. The visit was over four days from November 23-26, 2015 and was part of the STEP Tempus funded project “Strengthening universities enterprises linkages in Palestine”.

The visit touched upon the issues of entrepreneurship and innovation in business, entrepreneurial strategies and mindset, academic entrepreneurship, steps to finance (patented) business idea and the social impact of start-up companies.

An-Najah delegation also participated in an administrative congress where participating universities discussed the entrepreneurial experience of University of Bologna, the Emilia Romagna support to innovative startups and the strategies to practically select and exploit research outcomes in a business idea.

The congress resulted in agreeing upon the coming step of implementing strategies and plans STEP tempus project.

The delegation was also given a tour to Ferrara University as they were introduced to its innovative and entrepreneurial experience.

  • The visit was organized through the office of the coordinator of European projects at An-Najah.
  • An-Najah delegation included Dr. Imad Ibrik, European Projects Coordinator and Director of STEP Project; Dr. Yahya Saleh, Director of An-Najah’s Business Innovation Center (NaBIC); Mr.  Rasheed Kukhon, Director of the Finance Department; Engineer Shadi Sawalha, Staff Member at the Chemical Engineering Department; Eng Khaled Barham, Director of the Korean-Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence and Dr. Mohammad Saboo, representing the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education.
