University Scholarships and Grants for the 2023/2024 Academic Year
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) is delighted to announce the availability of university scholarships for the upcoming academic year, 2023/2024. These scholarships are generously provided by the Friends of Birzeit University (FoBZU), the Canadian Palestinian Professional Foundation (CPPF), the UNRWA USA National Committee, and the Eversheds Sutherland Foundation, all of whom are committed to supporting Palestinian refugee students in the West Bank.
UNRWA will oversee the process of admission, registration, and distribution of these scholarships, and the eligibility criteria are outlined as follows:

Applicants must have successfully graduated from Tawjihi High School in the year 2023 with a minimum grade point average of 85%, or 80% for students enrolled in the Social Safety Net Program (SSNP), which includes cases of extreme hardship.

Applicants should be between 17 and 21 years of age.

Applicants must be Palestinian refugees registered in UNRWA records in the West Bank.

Applicants should be enrolled in recognized local universities, pursuing programs with study durations of four, five, or six years.

Applicants must be first-year students for the academic year 2023/2024.

Applicants should not have received any other scholarships or financial assistance from external sources.

Applicants must demonstrate financial inability to cover their study expenses.

These university scholarships are open to Palestinian students of all genders.

Please ensure that the following documents are electronically attached to your application, preferably in PDF format:
• A copy of your personal ID card or birth certificate.
• A copy of your UNRWA registration card (ration card).
• A work certificate for your parents (father and mother).
• A copy of the General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) for the academic year 2022/2023.
• A copy of your university registration certificate for the academic year 2023/2024.
• Your name must be entered in quadruplicate on the application, matching the academic certificate.
Applications with incomplete documentation will regrettably be excluded from consideration. The application deadline is September 15, 2023.
