An-Najah Group Obtains a Patent in Plastic Waster Fuel

A group of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at An-Najah National University obtained a patent for their project in producing fuel from plastic waste.
The group consisted of Mr. Shadi Sawalha, Staff Member at the Chemical Engineering Department, Engineer Rahal Rasheed, Engineer Mohammad Manasra, Engineer Afnan Ahmad, and Engineer Marah Jamous.
The patent was obtained by implementing the 2012 graduation project in which the group proposed an alternative to the common chemical agent used in fuel production. The process aims at turning environmentally harmful wastes into a useful product used in various applications.
