An-Najah University Students Secure Top Spots in Climate Futures Exchange Competition

On May 25, 2024, three student teams from An-Najah National University earned the top three positions in the second phase of the Climate Futures Exchange competition, held in collaboration with Arizona State University.
The competition challenged students to design a sustainable kindergarten in Nablus, balancing innovation and energy efficiency under challenging climatic conditions. Eleven teams, comprising students from both universities, participated in the contest.
The first and second-place teams will visit Arizona State University in the fall to engage in workshops on architecture and climate change. This project, funded by the J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative, managed by the Aspen Institute, promotes cross-cultural collaboration, climate awareness, and sustainable design through virtual exchange.
Judges commended the high-level architectural skills and use of advanced tools like simulation software and virtual reality, highlighting An-Najah’s exceptional educational standards. Dr. Mu’tasim Ba’ba’, project director at An-Najah, thanked the organizing partners and praised the participating teams for their remarkable efforts.
