An-Najah University Achieves New Milestone in International Rankings
An-Najah National University has once again demonstrated its academic excellence by being included in the prestigious U.S. News & World Report Rankings for 2024. The university secured the 1039th position globally out of 2500 universities that met the stringent ranking criteria. Notably, An-Najah is the only Palestinian university to achieve this honor.
In the Asian university rankings, An-Najah placed 329th out of more than 1,100 institutions. This significant achievement underscores the university’s standing not just locally but also on a broader international stage. Importantly, the U.S. News & World Report Rankings do not rely on data provided by the universities themselves but extract information from highly credible international sources, such as the Clarivate Foundation. This foundation includes journals with the highest impact factors in their respective fields.
Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, President of An-Najah University, expressed his pride in this accomplishment. He commended the university community for their relentless efforts in elevating the university's research and academic standards. "This ranking reflects our commitment to achieving excellence and leadership both regionally and internationally," said Prof. Zaid. He emphasized the continuous efforts and resources being dedicated to improving the university’s educational and research systems, aiming to reach the level of the world's top universities.
Prof. Zaid also highlighted the importance of scientific research in the progress of modern societies and reiterated the university's dedication to maintaining high standards of academic quality. He noted that An-Najah has also achieved advanced positions in other global rankings, further confirming its leadership locally, regionally, and globally.
The International Academic Rankings Department of An-Najah National University explained that the U.S. News & World Report Rankings are based on several criteria. These include academic success, research impact, international cooperation, the granting of doctoral degrees, and the global reputation of its scientific research. Additional factors considered are publications, books, conferences, standard citation impact, the total number of citations, international collaboration, and contributions to highly cited papers.
This achievement is a testament to An-Najah University’s ongoing dedication to excellence and its significant contributions to the global academic community.
