For the fourth consecutive year, An-Najah National University has maintained its leading position among Palestinian universities in the 2026 AD Scientific Index. The university also ranked 43rd in the Arab world and 1450th globally out of 18,702 higher-education institutions.


The AD Scientific Index is one of the most reputable global university rankings that measures academic and research performance based on scientific productivity and impact. The results reflect An-Najah’s outstanding academic standing and the excellence of its faculty members, whose research continues to have a strong global influence.

An-Najah achieved first place nationally across a wide range of academic fields, including medical and health sciences, natural sciences, arts and design, agriculture, and social sciences, underscoring the university’s consistent research and academic distinction across disciplines.

According to the H-index rankings within the AD Scientific Index, 18 scholars from An-Najah National University were listed among the top 10% of scientists worldwide, including:
Dr. Ahmad Bsharat, Prof. Ismail Warrad, Prof. Sa’ed Zyoud, Prof. Waleed Sweileh, Prof. Samah Al-Jabi, Prof. Samir Khudair, Prof. Tamer Khatib, Dr. Ameera Shaheen, Prof. Shehdeh Jodeh, Prof. Nidal Jaradat, Prof. Ansam Sawalha, Prof. Othman Hamad, Dr. Adel Juaidi, Prof. Ramzi Shawahneh, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, Prof. Hikmat Hilal, Prof. Nawaf Al-Maharik, and Prof. Mohammed Hawash.

Commenting on this achievement, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zeid, President of An-Najah University, expressed his pride in the university’s continued progress despite the difficult circumstances in Palestine. He emphasized that the university’s academic community possesses the intellect and determination necessary to secure advanced global rankings.

“This accomplishment reaffirms An-Najah’s strong research culture and our faculty’s ability to excel internationally,” Prof. Zaid stated. “The university remains committed to supporting its researchers and providing all the necessary resources to advance scientific inquiry in every field.”
