The competition aimed to provide law students in the Palestinian Universities with a platform that enables them to participate in legal debates and discussions on the international humanitarian law (IHL). It also aimed to to expand students' knowledge about international law, and promote understanding and dialogue on IHL.

The students were evaluated by a selected regional high level jury of three experts in international humanitarian law in the Arab world.
