An-Najah Ranks Among the Top 400 Most Innovative Universities Worldwide in the WURI 2025 Rankings

In a new global achievement, An-Najah National University has been listed among the top 400 most innovative universities in the world, according to the 2025 edition of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). The university ranked 340th globally in the overall innovation category, reinforcing its ongoing record of excellence and advancement across international rankings. WURI is considered one of the leading global university rankings focused on measuring the real impact of universities on society through innovation and pioneering initiatives.
This recognition goes beyond the overall institutional ranking, as three of An-Najah’s innovative projects were also listed among the Top 100 projects worldwide in their respective categories. The university’s Hybrid Education Model during the Nablus Lockdowns ranked 28th globally in the Crisis Management category, while the An-Najah Innovation Park secured 21st place in the Entrepreneurial Spirit category. In addition, the university’s Sustainability and Self-Sufficiency Projects achieved a notable 7th place globally in the Funding for Sustainability category.
These results underscore the university’s ability to transform challenges into impactful opportunities by responding effectively to crises and fostering a comprehensive culture of innovation. They also reflect An-Najah’s dedication to empowering its students and community through meaningful, future-oriented initiatives.
The WURI Rankings are a unique initiative developed by the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) in collaboration with respected international institutions such as the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness. Unlike traditional rankings that focus on research output and reputation, WURI prioritizes real innovation—highlighting projects that generate significant social, educational, and economic impact, demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking, and offer creative solutions to global and local challenges. The ranking aims to honor universities that embed innovation into their core strategy and contribute meaningfully to shaping a better future.
On this occasion, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zeid, President of An-Najah National University, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating that it aligns with the university’s strategic vision of advancing innovation, creative education, and sustainable development—especially in light of current challenges. He affirmed that An-Najah continues to serve as a leading global model for higher education, sustainability, and impactful partnerships.
