An-Najah National University was the only Palestinian university to enter the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2022, as it has been ranked 8th in Arab World, and 122nd worldwide.

This year, the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings list the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger. The table is based on the same 13 performance indicators as the flagship THE World University Rankings.

The 2022 Young University Rankings includes 539 universities, up from 475 in 2021. A further 251 institutions are listed with “reporter” status, meaning that they provided data but did not meet the eligibility criteria to receive a rank.

Universities are assessed according to 13 performance indicators grouped into five areas: teaching, research, citations (which denote research influence), international outlook (for staff, students and research), and industry income.

On this occasion, Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, An-Najah President said: “Particularly in light of the challenges of the past two years, which required patience, resilience and adaptability from both staff and students, domestically and internationally, these results reinforce and reward the great work being done at An-Najah University.”

“The results also acknowledge the quality of the research coming out of An-Najah University and the world-class teaching staff we are so fortunate to have here,” he added.
