The Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the Google Club Association at An-Najah National University, recently organized a series of Google Club competitions and technical challenges, attracting wide participation from students across the University. This initiative reflects the University’s continued commitment to supporting purposeful student activities and fostering students’ technical and creative skills, in line with its vision to advance the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education.


The competitions were held at the Faculty of Science Auditorium and the Faculty of Engineering halls at the New Campus. The events were attended by Eyad Aqraa, Director of Student Affairs; Anan Alnasser, Coordinator of Student Associations; student Omar Alzitawi, President of the Google Club Association; members of the association’s administrative board and staff; in addition to the participating students.

The event opened with welcoming remarks addressed to the participating teams, during which the organizers highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering a positive and motivating competitive environment that promotes innovation, teamwork, and creativity.

In his speech, Mr. Aqraa welcomed the participants and emphasized the University’s dedication to supporting high-quality student activities. He stressed the importance of investing students’ free time in meaningful initiatives that contribute to skill development and capacity building, particularly competitions and challenges that enhance creative thinking, teamwork, and alignment with labor market needs.

For his part, Omar Alzitawi affirmed the Google Club’s commitment to providing educational and competitive platforms that enable students to develop their technical and practical skills while keeping pace with the latest technological advancements. He also expressed his appreciation for the continuous support provided by the University and the Deanship of Student Affairs, which contributed significantly to the success of the event.

Alzitawi and the Google Club organizing team presented an overview of the competition, explaining the team distribution mechanism, organizational framework, and challenge procedures. The competitions were held as part of the “Google Land” event, during which participating teams competed through five successive stages, interspersed with special segments designed to test students’ technical, analytical, and collaborative skills across various fields.

The event concluded with the honoring of the winning teams in recognition of their outstanding performance and efforts. The competitions were characterized by a positive and dynamic atmosphere that reflected students’ creativity and commitment, underscoring the value of such initiatives in supporting students’ academic and professional development and reinforcing the University’s vision of providing an integrated educational experience that combines theoretical learning with practical application.
