A research team from An-Najah National University’s Accounting PhD program has published a new study in the internationally renowned journal Property Management, exploring the relationship between corporate transparency and social responsibility amid political instability in Palestine.


After extensive efforts, students Duha Rabaia, Raed Abdelhaq, Alaa Jarrar, Jawad Olayyan, Rahma Odeh, and Mais Mubsalat from the Accounting PhD program at the University successfully published a research paper in the International Journal of Intellectual Property Management, titled:

Corporate Transparency under Pressure: The Association Between Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure and Earnings Management in Contexts of Political Instability

The study, published in the reputable InderScience database and classified in Scopus Q2 – Elsevier, was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Abdulnaser Nour and Prof. Abdalmuttaleb Sartawi, as part of the Applied Accounting Research Seminar and Sustainability in Accounting courses within the Accounting PhD program.

The research findings carry significant implications for policymakers and regulatory bodies, highlighting the importance of adopting enhanced governance practices and implementing standardized tools for measuring corporate social responsibility to promote transparency and accountability in emerging economies, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. This achievement also underscores the University’s active role in contributing scientific knowledge that addresses community service and social responsibility issues.
