Dr. Moien Omar from An-Najah National University Publishes Research on Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems in Palestine

Dr. Moein Omar from An-Najah National University published a paper in the International Journal of Energy Research, with an impact factor of 4.3, focusing on the adoption of grid-connected photovoltaic systems in Palestine. The research analyzed photovoltaic systems with capacities ranging from 2-5 kW for residential sectors and evaluated factors such as self-consumption and self-sufficiency in solar energy.
The results showed that smaller systems (2-3 kW) achieve higher self-consumption rates, improving economic returns. Larger systems, however, suffer from low self-consumption, exporting energy to the grid and losing some due to export discounts. The paper recommends adjusting net metering policies to enhance the economic feasibility of larger systems and encourage the adoption of solar energy in the residential sector.
This publication reflects the University’s leadership in scientific research and innovation in energy and sustainability, reinforcing its commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and supporting sustainable development.
