In a remarkable academic achievement highlighting student excellence, the first cohort of the Master’s in Interior Design program at An-Najah National University’s Faculty of Fine Arts has published six research papers in peer-reviewed journals under the supervision of Dr. Hani Farran, with three additional papers still under review.


The research team consisted of 13 students from the Research Methodology course: Rahaf Abdulaziz, Qais Labadeh, Yaqeen Fares, Jaleela Hanani, Mohammad Bozia, Raghad Ismail, Zainab Salah, Naimeh Ahmad, Nadine Ardda, Ibtisam Saymeh, Othman Goul, Laith Nazzal, and Maysem Abdulhaq.

Abdulaziz published her paper in Heritage and Design Journal under the title: “Utilizing Modern Interior Design to Enhance Palestinian Cultural Identity in Housing: A Case Study of a Palestinian Ambassador’s Residence in Spain.”

A joint research paper by Labadeh, Fares, and Hanani, titled “Determinants of Palestinian Cultural Identity Influence in Modern Interior Design of a Diplomatic Residence – Greece as a Case Study,” was also published in Heritage and Design Journal.

Bozia contributed another paper to the same journal, titled: “Incorporating Palestinian Cultural Identity in Interior Design for Diplomatic Residences.”

Ismail’s paper, published in Art and Design Journal, was titled: “The Influence of Palestinian Cultural Identity Determinants on Interior Residential Design.”

Salah published her research in Architecture, Arts, and Humanities Journal, titled: “Interior Design for Temporary Housing of Displaced People Affected by Aggression Using Smart Technology.”

Additionally, a joint study by Ahmad, Ardda, and Saymeh, published in Architecture, Arts, and Humanities Journal, was titled: “Comparing the Impact of AI Tools and Computer Software on the Quality of Furniture Design Incorporating Palestinian Cultural Identity.”

Meanwhile, Ghoul’s research, titled “The Importance of Strengthening Palestinian Cultural Identity Determinants in Residential Interior Design: An Analytical Study of a Palestinian Ambassador’s Residence in Jordan,” is still under review.

Nazzal has submitted a paper for review titled: “The Use of AI Tools to Enhance Palestinian Cultural Identity in Residential Interior Spaces.”

Abdulhaq has also submitted a research paper currently under review, titled: “E-Learning and Blended Education in Palestine: Reality and Challenges at An-Najah National University – Faculty of Fine Arts.”

This achievement reflects the University’s dedication to fostering its students’ academic and professional growth, reinforcing its position as a leader in scientific research locally and internationally.
