In a significant achievement in the field of sustainability, graduates from the Civil Engineering Program at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at An-Najah National University have successfully published research extracted from their graduation project in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Transport Problems, which is indexed in Scopus and Clarivate.


The research, titled "Economic Feasibility and Environmental Implications of Permeable Pavement in Palestine," was conducted by graduates Mohamed Ali, Mohannad Musa, Mohammed Kayed, and Faten Daraghmeh, under the supervision of Dr. Fady Hassouna and Engineer Rima Nassar. The study focuses on the economic and environmental benefits of using permeable pavements, which are designed to rapidly drain surface water during the rainy season, thereby enhancing groundwater recharge and improving its quality.

The publication of this research in Transport Problems, a journal with an impact factor of 0.7 and issued by the Silesian University of Technology, highlights the innovative work being conducted by An-Najah National University students in the area of sustainable infrastructure. This achievement not only contributes to the academic and professional growth of the graduates but also underscores the university's commitment to advancing research that addresses critical environmental challenges.
