The University developed academic programs in technical fields specialized in renewable energy and obtained accreditation for new MSc and PhD programs in the field. It also established laboratories for measurement and investigation, and conducted highly-specialized applied scientific research.

Also, the University encourages training in this discipline, and prioritizes Research Projects that tackle problems in the energy sector in Palestine.

Dr. Emad Breik played a key role in introducing technologies of renewable energy to the University and producing high quality research papers published in international journals with prestigious reputation and prominent impact factor, and competitive with research papers produced by universities and research centers in developed countries.

It should be noted that An-Najah’s research projects in the fields of renewable energy contribute to the sustainable and environmental development in Palestine and provide better living conditions for the rural poor living in remote and marginalized areas where electricity networks are poor.
