Professors Waleed Sweileh and Dr. Saed Zyoud from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah, participated in writing a chapter in a book titled “Pharmacy Practice in Developing Countries: Achievements and Challenges” which was published by Elsevier, an international publishing house and one of the Reed Elsevier Collection.

The two professors along with other colleagues started writing the chapter almost two years ago.

The book offers a detailed review of the history and development of pharmacy practice in developing countries across Africa, Asia, and South America. This book focuses on each country’s strengths and achievements, as well as areas of weakness, barriers to improvement and challenges. It sets out to establish a baseline for best practices, taking various factors into account and offering solutions and opportunities for the future.

The book is a valuable resource for academics, researchers, practicing pharmacists, policy makers, and students involved in pharmacy practice worldwide as it provides lessons learned on a global scale and seeks to advance the pharmacy profession.

Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah thanked An-Najah staff for achieving this success and mentioned that An-Najah was the first Palestinian university to establish the Faculty of Pharmacy and to adopt the doctor of pharmacy programme.
