Poison Swallowed
- If the person is not breathing, start artificial respiration and call 101 hotline.
- If the person is conscious, check to see if the person can swallow.
- Do not give anything by mouth unless you consult the PCDI unit or the physican
- Do not make the person vomit unless you’ve been advised by the PCDI unit or the Physician.
- In some cases, vomiting can cause more damage.
- Then call PCDI Unit at 1-800-500-000.
- Some products can be fatal if swallowed. Too much medicine can also be life threatening, especially to children. The poison specialist can determine if further treatment is needed.
