The Human Resources Department at An-Najah National University, in collaboration with the Sustainability Office, organized a training workshop titled “The Social Aspects of Sustainable Development” on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The workshop is part of the University’s mandatory annual training program for academic and administrative staff, with over 50 participants.
Led by Mr. Raed Debiy, President's Assistant for Community Affairs, the session covered key topics such as equality, diversity, inclusion, empowering marginalized groups, social justice in university policies, effective community partnerships, and integrating social responsibility into academic and administrative work.
The workshop highlighted the University’s Community Service Course, where thousands of students have participated in projects such as environmental and health campaigns, digital literacy programs for the elderly, support for kindergartens and elderly care centers, and medical outreach in remote areas. It also addressed the University’s role in launching AI-driven community initiatives, ensuring justice and equality through governance, and enhancing international cooperation.
Participants also discussed ways to actively contribute to social responsibility by adopting sustainable institutional practices that promote justice, equity, and inclusion in both work and learning environments.
This workshop is part of a series of training programs reinforcing the University’s commitment to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
