The Child Institute of An-Najah National University calls for research papers for the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Practices Based on Proofs in Palestine Conference which will be held on Thursday, April, 2016.
Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are a set of neurodevelopmental disorders that create a lifelong challenge for individuals affected in the areas of communication, socialization, and repetitive or stereotypical behaviors. The diagnosis and rehabilitation of ASD is a new and exciting field with many innovative evidence based best practices emerging from clinical studies. There is a need to further expand on the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder in Palestine and explore what methods and practices are most effective on creating change for individuals with ASD in Palestine from diagnosis, to treatment to community inclusion within educational, social and leisure life systems based on scientifically validated and culturally appropriate programs.
Recognize in a positive way World Autism Day through the following activities:
- Gather the experts in ASD from across Palestine to share best practices in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of ASD .
- Discuss and problem solve regarding obstacles to using best practice in the area of ASD in Palestine.
- Reinforce and support positive steps in diagnosis and rehabilitating of ASD in Palestine.
The topics covered in this conference will include but are not limited to:
- Standardized Diagnostic Tools for ASD validated in Palestine.
- The Incredible Years Program: Tools for Parent’s with children affected by ASD.
- Using technology to enhance the learning of children affected by ASD.
- Parent’s perspective’s on ASD and gaps in services.
- Genetic components of ASD.
- Inclusion of individuals with ASD in the Palestinian context.
- Papers should be in APA form and no more than 500 words.
- Papers should tackle ASD causes, diagnosis and therapy.
- Abstracts should be Microsoft Word documents.
- Deadline to receive documents: March 17th, 2016.
