Remedial English (E10032100) is a three-hour non-credited English course offered to students who score poorly (i.e. below 50%) on the placement test. Since the major concern of this course is to improve the students? proficiency before starting their ordinary university English basic courses and major courses taught in English, special emphasis has been placed on enhancing the students? ability to effectively acquire the four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Specifically, the course attempts to ensure an academically acceptable performance on the part of the students at the level of the English basic courses. Moreover, the course aims at expanding students? vocabulary needed for various tasks.

This course aims to establish the concept of Islamic culture and its position among the other international cultures, its position in the Muslim life, its sources, its bases and its characteristics. It also aims to introduce the Islamic culture in faith, worship, relations, morals, and knowledge, to discuss the clash between cultures in addition to Globalization, Human Rights, Woman Rights, Democracy and other contemporary issues.

University English I (E11000103) is a three credit-hour university-required English language course designed for students who need to work on the four skills of the language: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The development of vocabulary and skills of comprehension are integral parts of the course. In addition, various reading strategies (making predictions, identifying main ideas, reading for details, relating information in the text to life experience) are introduced and developed through a wide range of topics for reading and writing. The course encourages a more analytical and independent approach to study and helps prepare the students for any subsequent exam preparation.

The course is mandatory for university students from various disciplines, so it provides students with knowledge and `information about the Palestinian reality and in particular the political developments of the Palestinian cause since its inception until the present day in line social and economic developments and political which constitute the main pillars for the study of the Palestinian political reality. This course aims to study the Palestinian issue from its beginning until present in social, economic and political issues.

This course aims to connect university students with charitable, community, and public institutions, while also enhancing students? role towards society and familiarizing them with humanitarian needs by providing assistance to targeted groups. It seeks to improve the living conditions of marginalized and impoverished populations. The course prioritizes achieving the greatest possible number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the Palestinian context. This is not only through raising awareness and introducing these goals, but also by offering students opportunities to engage practically in implementing various SDGs locally. Students will participate in programs, projects, and activities aimed at reducing poverty and hunger, providing medical services, treatment, and medication to marginalized and poor groups, supporting gender equality and education, including persons with disabilities and special needs, preserving water resources and natural resources, raising awareness on alternative and clean energy, caring for the environment and agriculture, recycling solid materials, rejecting discrimination, promoting green spaces, and encouraging productive and forestry farming. Students enrolled in the course can join different stages designed with alternatives for each phase, allowing them to complete the requirements under flexible conditions. The course aims to assist students in acquiring modern concepts in the field of communication and understanding the essential skills for effective communication with oneself and others. This is achieved through the use of effective teaching methods that rely on student engagement and motivation to learn through training and self-directed learning. The course emphasizes skill development through teamwork and interactive methods, helping students improve their verbal and non-verbal communication skills by learning public speaking and the fundamentals of oration. Additionally, it helps students develop active listening skills, and contributes to enhancing their abilities in dialogue and persuasion, overcoming public speaking anxiety, self-promotion, negotiation, job interviews, presentation and delivery, and writing. The course also provides students with knowledge about innovative and creative ideas that can be implemented, as well as how to write a resume. Furthermore, the course aims to refine students' personalities through participation in group presentations.

This course aims to enrich students with the basic computer skills alongside with the theoretical and practical backgrounds behind those skills. First of all, software and hardware components of a computer are discussed. This forms the substrate from which a student can realize the practical applications of a computer, especially in Artificial Intelligence (AI). Thereafter, the student awareness for the security vulnerabilities of a computer system is improved through discussing the threats associated with the absolute dependability on the Internet in storing critical data. This is conducted with presenting the basic secure Internet frameworks for students with emphasis on scientific research platforms (ResearchGate, Google Scholar, LinkedIn,?etc). Finally, word processing, statistical analysis and presentation software are discussed with practical applications in the lab.

University English II is a three-credit hour university-required English language course specifically designed to meet the needs of the students of the humanities and social sciences. The instructors of the course will employ a broad-based approach by integrating the four language skills, in order to enable students to improve their reading skills and comprehension of a variety of academic texts and to provide their own input by expressing their opinions on the topics under discussion, through either verbal participation in class or written assignments at home. As the discussions in class will be held in English, this is hoped to enhance the listening comprehension of students as well as provide them with opportunities to exercise their speaking skills. The units in the prescribed textbook have been organized according to the various strategies that students need to practice in order to improve their speed and comprehension, particularly while reading on an academic subject in English. These strategies include understanding vocabulary in context, using the dictionary, understanding information from graphs and charts, scanning for specific information, taking notes from reading, studying collocations ?. etc. In Addition to the texts set for intensive reading, six more passages are also considered as self ? reading passages so as to encourage students to read at home and contact their instructors.

The aim of this course is to visually train the student so that they can rely on trained eyes to convey reality (silent nature) and emphasize proportion, harmony, and the distribution of elements within the framework of the artistic work through intensive linear studies. The student focuses on light and shadow and techniques of using pencils, while noting different levels of vision, and emphasizing the third dimension (perspective) within various compositional structures.

The course of Engineering Drawing is an educational subject that enables the student to read and interpret engineering drawings and patrons and master the principles of engineering drawing. This enables the student to communicate and link what he/she studies in this course with practical reality, in order to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge. Additionally, this course explores an international communication language, allowing the student to transfer this information and identify its shapes by learning how to identify the main and fundamental standard rules and terminology. Through this course, students' drawing skills are developed by using various methods to solve two-dimensional and three-dimensional engineering problems.

This course focuses on teaching students the fundamentals and elements of design, the basics of constructing clothing components, the artistic foundations of drawing the human body for women (static, frontal, and moving), proposed design lines for morning and evening clothes, and composition techniques using (pencils, wooden pencils). It also covers how to add color touches to express the material used in the design, designs for clothing inspired by sources such as nature, world heritage, and local heritage.

The aim of this course is to build upon what the student has learned in the previous course (Freehand Drawing 1), which includes drawing the human body in various poses, capturing the effects of light and shadow on the human body, and expressing different textures and surfaces through drawing. The course will focus on studying the structural foundations and poses of the body with backgrounds and groups of people through quick and complete artistic sketches. These exercises will primarily be done on the human body, emphasizing the proportion and its relationship with the environment and daily activities, using different materials and innovative technique.

The course aims to study the scientific and historical background of the mannequin field. In addition to that, the course aims to provide the student with skills in shaping techniques on the mannequin, including how to prepare the mannequin for shaping (the artificial body) using various methods such as the usual method of preparing the mannequin, the zipper or movable cover method, and the method of preparing the mannequin using strips. All previous methods require conformity to body measurements, making a cover for the mannequin with fabric, understanding the correct scientific principles in shaping on the mannequin using different materials, and mastering the techniques of knitting and adjusting them on the mannequin.

This course covers the history and development of patrons design throughout different eras, as well as the importance and types of basic patrons. Students will learn different methods for obtaining patrons, as well as the principles and techniques of drawing basic patrons. They will also learn how to create various models based on the basic patrons, and how to place the patron onto fabric and mark and cut it. Additionally, the course will cover how to save fabric while designing and placing patrons.

Also, it teach the students how to draw patrons using personal measurements, and the variations in circumferences and lengths of the human body. In addition, it will help the student in drawing the basic patrons (for the bodice, sleeve, and collar), drawing the basic pattern for children's clothing, and drawing a personalized pattern for a gown.

This course aims to equip students with the skill of high-quality knitting on industrial knitting machines, conducting preventive maintenance, and improving the final product quality while reducing waste time. By the end of this course, the student will be able to: identify knitting yarns and their specifications; types of knitting needles used for industrial knitting machines, determine machines and equipment for fabric inspection. Furthermore, it will help in spreading and cutting for various fabrics, explain the scientific principles for classifying knitting machines, and use handling tools, ironing machines, and other auxiliary tools used in ready-made garment factories

Students will learn the basics of drawing a female mannequin based on knowledge of anatomy and identify the factors that influence fashion designers. Through this course, students will be able to analyze and identify the factors that affect product design, analyze quality requirements in design for different types of clothing, and analyze fashion trends and philosophies by examining examples of work from international fashion designers. At the end of the course, students will present a complete project (for women's clothing) of their own design.

This course covers the study of materials used in fashion design, where students learn about them by employing them on clothing design units and their various complements. In addition to analyzing and describing raw materials, students through this course can study and analyze the physical/chemical/mechanical properties of these materials and learn about different methods of production and the role of the designer in choosing the raw material that is suitable for fashion design requirements. This course aims to broaden the student's understanding and perception of how to choose the appropriate materials and recognize their different types. The process of teaching can be achieved through explanation and analysis of materials and their application in fashion design, along with research, material gathering, and analysis, followed by discussion and analysis.

This course concentrates on the analysis of purpose and importance of fashion show methods and techniques, as well as determining the show plan and budget. It also includes identifying the purpose and types of fashion shows, summarizing the historical development of show methods and venues, activating product recognition through advertising and display methods, defining public relations and their role in advertising and fashion shows, and establishing the reputation of the commercial institution that owns the product. Students will learn different modern techniques and methods for fashion shows and display methods within exhibitions.

This course is a theoretical course consisting of two elements, Fashion Marketing (50%) and Contemporary Design Effects (50%). The student will be introduced to some of the key theoretical approaches to fashion marketing, and the course provides the necessary tools for critically analyzing theories in the fashion industry. The course also familiarizes the student with the cultural history of fashion from the past to contemporary times, giving a foundation for understanding how fashion is produced, traded, and consumed traditionally. Additionally, this course will provide the opportunity to learn basic marketing concepts, principles, theories, and techniques, with particular reference to the fashion environment in which they are practiced. Furthermore, the student will learn how to analyze institutions in markets and divide them, and how to make a wide range of marketing decisions considering changing environments. In the second part of the course, which is the effects of contemporary design, the student will learn about the history of fashion through its various social, cultural, political, and economic influences, and the role of artificial intelligence in the fashion world. This course is about designing children's clothing and imparting knowledge and skills to students in teaching the fundamentals of designing clothes for both genders and identifying different methods of decorating children's clothes. In this course, the student works on identifying the anatomical aspects of the child's body so that the student can distinguish between suitable types of children's clothing for each stage. The necessary measurements for drawing flat designs for children's clothing are also determined. Additionally, in this course, the student will learn about studying the characteristics of children's growth at different ages, studying the characteristics that should be present in children's cloth. In addition to that, the students will learn how including colors, materials, building and decorative lines, and studying measurement charts of the child's body and identifying the correct methods of taking measurements, as well as studying the methods of constructing basic models for children's clothing for different age groups. The practical part of this course includes sketching children's clothing by the students. At the end of the course, the student must present a comprehensive project for children's clothing at a specific age stage.

This course focuses on the use of the most important computer programs used in pattern and clothing design. Also, it will teach the students the methods of obtaining patrons using drawing and computer design software (such as AutoCAD), basic principles and techniques of drawing and designing the basic patrons using appropriate design software for the fashion and fashion industry and signing the model on the pattern using drawing and computer design programs (such as AutoCAD).

Students will be trained on a specific CAD program, such as AutoCAD, to become familiar with its features and capabilities. The course covers the basics and techniques of drawing and designing basic patterns using appropriate fashion design software. Students will also learn how to sign the model on the patron using computer design and drawing software.

This course aims to provide students with the skills to decorate clothing or furnishings with ornamental designs inspired by historical decorative units (Pharaonic, Greek, Roman, Coptic, Islamic, Canaanite) or natural units. Through this course, students will learn about the concept of quotation and sources of quotation for ornamental units, the fundamentals of modifying them for ornamental design, and the steps followed in the ornamental quotation process. Students will also learn about the basic materials, tools, and aids used in hand embroidery, as well as the types of hand embroidery stitches and their nature of use. In addition, students will learn about the major problems facing the production of embroidered products and the plans that work to organize production to achieve a lower cost and a high-quality level through hand or machine embroidery stitches. During this course, students will work on producing embroidery samples using different materials and stitches and selecting a project theme. At the end of the course, the student will present an integrated plan for a garment project embroidered with the ornamental design inspired by different sources and executed using various hand embroidery stitches.

Through this course, students are trained in the field (after their third year and having successfully completed 90 hours) to experience practical application of the courses they have studied in college by training in official and private companies and institutions working in the field of fashion design. This can be achieved through a minimum of 200 training hours in the summer semester, either individually or in a regular semester, with the student not exceeding 11 registered hours including field training, under the supervision of a department teacher. The expected outcomes are for the student to comprehend the applications learned in real-life situations, to familiarize themselves with the available materials in the local market and how to adapt them to serve their specific field of expertise, in addition to understanding the principles of working in these companies regarding dealing with customers and enhancing teamwork spirit.

The student will also learn to distinguish between different traditional clothing styles, identify different methods and models of Palestinian folk dress in various regions, analyze the techniques of preparing and executing traditional clothing models, and deduce alternative materials to solve problems related to the production of traditional clothing. Furthermore, the course will analyze the factors influencing the clothing style in the region. The practical part of this course includes creating sketches for Palestinian traditional clothing for all family members.

This course aims to introduce the concept of colors, their nature, classification, properties, and the theories that have been studied such as the theories of Chevreul, Munsell, Azolet, and Newton, etc. The course also covers the mixing of pigment colors and the mixing of light colors. On the other hand, the student applies what he/she has learned theoretically in class and at home projects to enhance his/her skills in using colors and controlling the tools used in the implementation.

This course is the core of the specialization as it includes an introduction to design in its various types, techniques, materials, and tools in general. The course defines the concept of design and its foundations, as well as the principles that are used to apply and evaluate artistic work according to scientific standards. This includes the strength of points, lines, space, mass, and void, followed by balance, composition, rhythm, movement, diversity, value, homogeneity, proportion, and more. Students will also learn how to imagine geometric shapes in two and three dimensions and their practical applications. Additionally, they will be introduced to various formulas for aesthetic aspects, as well as how to shape and apply them.

Students will study various types of leather and different parts of animal skins, enabling them to distinguish between the chemical and anatomical composition of leather and identify natural leather defects and factors affecting animal skin. At the end of the course, students will learn the fundamentals of designing and preparing models and details in the leather industry, as well as the technical methods and tools used to shape leather.

They will also determine the necessary measurements for drawing flat designs for sportswear. In this course, students will: study the characteristics that should be present in each sport, including colors, materials, construction, and decorative lines; study measurement charts for athletes' bodies and learn the correct methods for taking measurements; study methods for constructing basic models for sportswear for different age groups and both genders. The practical part of this course includes creating sketches of sportswear for specific sports activities that are predetermined by the students. This course covers an introduction to project management, defining the project, the project life cycle, project selection, planning, organizing, evaluating, scheduling the project, resource allocation, project monitoring, as well as the challenges and difficulties faced by the project. It also discusses the qualities and responsibilities of the project manager, setting strategies to achieve goals, budgeting the project, and includes an in-depth study of small projects, their concept, characteristics, funding sources, market analysis, project site analysis, procurement and inventory management, their role in achieving economic development, and the reasons for the success and failure of small projects.

In this course, the student will learn how to develop their ability to explore sustainable solutions for fashion that meet the planet's needs, as well as the industry and its customers, by developing their understanding of the dynamics and interdependence between the industry and practical sustainability perspectives. The student will also be introduced to cultural, social, commercial, technological, and consumption-related factors and the changing nature of fashion consumption and consumer behavior that determine how the fashion industry can have a sustainable future and how this impacts the environment, workers, and consumers. The course will also address the role of governments, non-governmental organizations, and the media in changing the fashion agenda.
