The Arabic Language and Literature with Hebrew Minor Programme is offered recently by An-Najah’s Faculty of Humanities. The programme teaches students the linguistic components of Arabic (phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics).
The course aspires to give students a deep understanding of standard Arabic as an important component of the Islamic and Arabic civilization. It also aspires to improve students' appreciation of Arabic literature and Arab culture and heritage by offering a selected group of literary works for literary criticism.
Offering the minor programme in Hebrew aims at reinforcing cultural and lingual multiplicity and enriching students' lingual capacity and introducing students to Jewish literature and culture as well as language skills including listening, reading, writing, speaking, translation and scientific research. The programme’s enrollees must finish a total of 124 credit hours, which include compulsory and elective courses in both major and minor.
