The course addresses the difference between theoretical and applied linguistics by exploring their various branches and their importance in the field of language acquisition. It defines the acquisition of Arabic as a second language and its linguistic, communicative, and cultural aspects and highlights some important terminology in this field. It addresses the basis for the successful preparation for it in terms of teachers, programmes, curricula, and centers as well as learners' goals and attitudes, and the needs of a qualified teacher in the field.

This course introduces students to Arabic morphology including the structure of the Arabic word and how it changes into many forms as well as Arabic phonics rules. Various topics related to Arabic morphology are covered in the course which include Arabic verbs, types of Arabic verbs, Arabic verb forms, Arabic nouns, types of Arabic nouns, Arabic noun forms, masculine and feminine forms, singular and plural forms, etc.

This course aims to introduce students to Arabic grammar to assist them in teaching Arabic grammar to non-native speakers. The course covers the basics of grammar and structures, beginning with word classification, followed by sentence structure and its types: nominal (subject and predicate), and verbal (verb, subject, object), progressing to adjuncts (attribute, conjunction, substitution, emphasis), complements (circumstantial, affective), and particles of meaning. Practical exercises accompany these topics.

Course Description: This course introduces students to the curriculum development for acquiring Arabic as a second language, covering its design principles, preparation, and evaluation across levels. It also identifies various types of curriculum, their specificities, and challenges.

This course aims to study the contrastive linguistic approach and its role in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. It examines the features of Arabic, methods for identifying these features, and their role in detecting student errors for correction or providing preventive treatment in lessons, curricula, or educational content. The course highlights the significance of these methods in student development and error correction. The course also covers error analysis methodology, guiding students through its implementation to create feedback files, address student problems, and offer suitable preventive treatments. This contributes to improving teaching methods, enhancing student progress, and building a personal portfolio for each student.

This course examines the Arabic and Greek civilizations. It therefore acquaints students with the impact of Arab civilization on literature, philosophy, and sciences, and the influence of Greek civilization on these fields as well. Students explore the factors of influence and interaction between these two civilizations, including the impact of cross-cultural exchange on the structures of Arabic and Greek languages, such as linguistic borrowing and theoretical migration among others

This course explores the use of technology in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. It examines the role of technology in teaching language skills, producing educational content, assessment and evaluation, motivation, and creating computerized tests. The course utilizes images, videos, and various applications in the field such as those for creating images, videos, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations. It also addresses the role of social media in teaching, training participants to use different platforms in the educational process, including Moodle, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, Zoom, and others. Additionally, the course differentiates between fully online and blended learning through highlighting the characteristics of each type.
