A delegation from An-Najah National University paid an official visit on Saturday, 13 December 2025, to the State Chancellery in Düsseldorf, Germany. During the visit, the delegation met with Nathaniel Liminski, Minister for European and Federal Affairs, International Affairs and Media, along with several members of the Chancellery, represented by Betissa Schahabian, Head of the Africa and Middle East Desk.


The University delegation included Abdulsalam AlKhayyat, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Fares Abu Shamma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences; Bilal Rahhal, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Agricultural Engineering; and Amal Burbar, from the Partnerships and Global Initiatives Office

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen academic and professional cooperation between An-Najah National University and University of Cologne, within cooperation projects supported by the German government. The discussions focused on supporting and developing academic and medical education, strengthening the healthcare sector, and advancing institutional capacity building through strategic partnership and sustainable support.

Minister Liminski reaffirmed Germany’s continued support for An-Najah National University, expressing his admiration for the University’s qualitative development and the progress achieved by its university hospital, particularly in terms of international rankings, academic achievements, scientific research, patient services, and community engagement. The meeting also highlighted the University’s ongoing efforts to send students for training and specialization at German universities and hospitals, especially in medical fields.

This visit reflects the strategic approach adopted by An-Najah National University over recent years under the leadership of Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, President of the University. Through sustained efforts at the local, regional, and international levels, the University continues to strengthen its position as a leading and competitive academic institution at the highest standards.
