An-Najah University Hosts British Council Delegation to Strengthen Academic Collaboration
An-Najah National University welcomed, on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, a British Council delegation in a visit aimed at strengthening academic cooperation, reviewing ongoing partnership programs, and exploring opportunities to expand joint initiatives between the two institutions.
The delegation included Ms. Shaheeda MacDougall, British Council Director in Palestine; Ms. Rowan Al-Khatib, HESPAL Program Officer, and Ms. Hiba Hammouri, HESPAL Project Coordinator.
They were received by Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, President of the University, Dr. Amjad El-Qanni, Director of the Academic and Professional Development Center, Dr. Ihab Alsurakji, Coordinator of the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Program, and Ms. Louha Samaaneh, Director of the Language Resources Center.
Prof. Zaid welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing An-Najah’s commitment to building impactful international partnerships that contribute to advancing its academic programs and opening broader horizons for students and researchers. He noted that cooperation with the British Council represents an inspiring model of high-quality collaboration that the University aspires to further strengthen and expand.
Ms. MacDougall praised the ongoing partnership with An-Najah, stating: “We are delighted to see the positive impact of the HESPAL programs and other joint initiatives, and we look forward to developing new pathways that enhance academic exchange and support the capabilities of students and academic staff.”
The visit also featured a field tour of the Old Campus, during which the delegation explored several university facilities, including the library building and museum, in addition to being briefed on academic developments and the programs the University is working to advance to enrich the educational environment.
