An-Najah Concludes Design Futures Exchange Project with Final Workshop on Virtual Reality in Architecture


An-Najah National University held the final workshop of the Design Futures Exchange project on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU). The virtual exchange initiative brought together students from An-Najah’s Department of Architecture and Master’s Program in Sustainable Engineering with students from ASU’s School of Architecture and Design.
Hosted at the Innovation Park– INNOPARK, the workshop featured interactive training focused on innovation in architectural education and the integration of virtual reality (VR) technologies. Students engaged in hands-on activities using VR headsets to explore its applications in visualizing and analyzing architectural designs. The sessions were led by experts from the Center for Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence at An-Najah.
The workshop was attended by the final group of exchange participants under the supervision of the project team: Dr. Mutasim Babaa (Project Director), Dr. Allam Mousa (Director of the Innovation Park and VR Center), Dr.Sameh Monna (Project Coordinator and Head of Civil and Architectural Engineering), and Eng. Waleed Abuzaina (VR Trainer).
Speakers emphasized the project's role in enhancing students’ technical and intercultural skills through collaborative design experiences. The final joint project involved designing a kindergarten for the 'Ein Beit El Ma Camp' in Nablus. Appreciation was extended to ASU partners and An-Najah’s administration for their strong support.
The event concluded with a certificate ceremony in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
