An-Najah’s Faculty of Business and Communication Organizes Interactive Session on the Realities of the Palestinian Statistical Landscape
In line with its mission to connect academic knowledge with real-world application, the Department of Economics at An-Najah National University organized an interactive session on May 25, 2025, as part of the "Palestinian Economy" course. The event featured Mr. Faed Rayan from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), a proud alumnus of the department.
Dr. Rafat Jallad, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the value of engaging with national institutions to deepen students’ understanding of economic realities. Dr. Baker shtayeh, Head of the Department, highlighted the role of such events in enriching education and practical skills, while course instructor Dr.Shaker Khaleel stressed the importance of linking theory to current data and indicators.
Mr. Rayan delivered an insightful presentation on the statistical methodologies used by the PCBS in compiling key economic indicators, including national accounts, labor market statistics, fiscal policies, foreign trade, and the balance of payments.
Concluding the session, Mr. Rayan encouraged students to work hard and build strong academic foundations, sharing success stories of An-Najah graduates who now hold prominent positions locally and internationally.
