An-Najah National University students Mohammad Hannani and Wiam AI-Ali from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology have qualified for the International Hackathon on Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence, set to take place in the UAE in April.

Their qualification follows their outstanding performance in the Third Palestinian National Hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy, where Hannani secured first place, Al-Ali third place, and Ezzat Al-Sharif sixth place, surpassing 285 participants from Palestinian universities.

The hackathon explores quantum computing and AI to develop innovative applications in healthcare, education, business, and science.

Dr. Muhannad Haj Hussein, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, praised this achievement, emphasizing its role in enhancing the University’s global standing. Dr. Anas Toma and Dr. Othman Othman, members of the Quantum Computing Hackathon committee, highlighted the importance of such competitions in developing students’ expertise in modern technology. They also expressed their gratitude to An-Najah Innovation Park for its role in enabling students to participate in the competition.

This achievement reflects the University’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence, empowering students to excel in international arenas.
