In recognition of an outstanding international achievement, An-Najah National University held an honoring ceremony for its Faculty of Law and Political Science team, which won first place in the Fifth Edition of the Arabic Arbitration Moot Competition, organized by the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The winning team included Farah Atatreh, Sarah Omar, Marah Hamdallah, and Rouaa Jeradat, under the supervision of their coach Mr. Mohammad Abushehab and the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Noor Adas.

The competition brought together 134 teams from 27 countries, with over 900 students and supervisors from around the world competing virtually in simulated Arabic-language arbitration cases reflecting real-world international commercial disputes.
The An-Najah team advanced through the 32nd and 16th rounds, then secured a spot among the top eight teams before reaching the semifinals and ultimately triumphing over King Saud bin Abdulaziz University in the final round to claim the championship title.

During the ceremony, Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, President of An-Najah University, praised the team’s remarkable achievement, noting that it embodies the perseverance and excellence of Palestinian youth despite all challenges.
“This victory reflects not only academic distinction but also the determination of our students to represent Palestine and An-Najah University with honor on the international stage,” he said, extending his appreciation to the Faculty of Law and Political Science, the team’s coach, and the students’ families for their continuous support.

Dr. Noor Adas, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting student participation in regional and international competitions. She commended the team’s performance and their supervisor’s role in mentoring and preparing them for this global event.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the university honored the winning students, their families, the team’s coach, and the Faculty Dean in appreciation of their collective contribution to this exceptional achievement. The students were also recognized by the Student Council, represented by its President Amro Qawareeq, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Daqqa.
