An-Najah Hosts Environmental Workshop Promoting Sustainability and Collaborative Climate Action with Government
On May 13, 2024, An-Najah National University hosted an environmental awareness workshop organized by the Environmental Quality Authority in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The event gathered experts, representatives from institutions, and students interested in environmental issues. Key attendees included Eng. Amjad Jaber from the Environmental Quality Authority, Mr. Ayman Houdali from the Ministry of Education, and Dr. Majdi Dweikat, Assistant Academic Vice President for Medical Faculties at An-Najah.
The workshop addressed topics such as hazardous waste management, chemical safety practices in Palestine, the Environmental Quality Authority’s regulatory role, and international environmental agreements. Experts shared insights on sustainable practices and the importance of environmental education.
Mr. Houdali highlighted the Ministry’s efforts in managing chemicals and hazardous waste, emphasizing the importance of collaborative environmental initiatives through competitions, eco-tourism activities, and conferences. Dr. Dweikat reaffirmed An-Najah's commitment to promoting public and environmental health through continuous support for research and awareness initiatives.
Eng. Jaber emphasized the need for knowledge exchange and partnerships between universities, government institutions, and environmental bodies to enhance efforts in environmental conservation.
