Dr. Aida Abu Al-Saud Al-Qaisi, the Director of the Nursing and Midwifery Department, and Director of the Curriculum and Accreditation Unit at An-Najah National University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, has recently achieved certification as a Certified Academic Program Reviewer. This accomplishment was attained during her participation in a comprehensive workshop organized by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council in the Association of Arab Universities.

The "Certified Academic Program Reviewer" workshop, conducted from December 17 to 21, 2023, in Amman, Jordan, aimed to prepare and qualify a larger number of academics in Arab higher education institutions to implement modern trends related to the quality of academic programs. Hosted by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council in the Association of Arab Universities, the workshop provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for academic program evaluation.

The workshop unfolded at the Movenpick Hotel and featured a multifaceted program consisting of two key workshops. The first workshop focused on preparing the self-evaluation report for academic programs, preparing external reviewers, and conducting field visits. It introduced participants to the methodology for reviewing and evaluating academic programs, emphasizing the evaluation standards set by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council. Dr. Al-Qaisi and her peers learned how to prepare self-evaluation reports, identify strengths and areas for improvement, analyze reports, and develop field visit programs.

The second workshop delved into the external evaluation of academic programs, providing hands-on experience and practical applications for all activities of external evaluation teams. Participants gained insights into pre-visit activities, field visits, and the post-visit process, including the preparation of final reports.

Dr. Al-Qaisi expressed her joy and satisfaction with the valuable experience gained during the workshop, emphasizing the collaborative exchange of ideas and experiences with scientific figures from various parts of the Arab world. She noted, "It was an inspiring and useful experience, and we are now better equipped to contribute to the enhancement of academic program quality at our university."

In gratitude, Dr. Al-Qaisi extended her thanks to the university administration, particularly President Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Khayyat, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Dr. Khalil Issa. Their support and encouragement enabled her to participate in this enriching workshop, reinforcing An-Najah National University's commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
